Idiom - "as far as I know"

This week's idiom is, "as far as I know".

     "As far as I know, the restaurant is supposed to be open today."

     A:  Have you seen Bill today?  He's not at his desk.

     B:  As far as I know, Bill was attacked by a gang of left-handed fourth-graders with bags of lemons.

So...the phrase "as far as I know" means "according to the knowledge/facts I currently have".  Also, you have the knowledge, but there is still some uncertainty.

    "As far as I know, the fastest way to get there is to turn left on Salmon Mousse Lane."
